AN ALTERNATIVE HALLOWEEN TO ENGAGE IN

In July 2023 Voiceout conference was the first youth led and delivered conference in Sheffield. To showcase our fantastic young leaders, all roles connected to the conference will be undertaken by young people. All content has been designed and created by young people. Workshops will be engaging and information, plus provide important messages young people are keen for policy makers, trustees, CEOs and future investors to hear.
The conference includes content from our supportive stakeholders, who will provide an overview of the successes of our partnership, along with the challenges faced within the voluntary sector by organisations such as Reach Up Youth.

We will address current issues affecting young people in society, with a focus on employability and access to quality opportunities, particularly for those faced with additional barriers and those experiencing inequalities.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Reach Up Youth is a charity which supports young people from Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic groups to achieve their full potential. The Charity has been in operation for 10 years, working with local communities, regional partners, and national stakeholders to ensure young people feel supported and empowered to lead healthy, successful lives.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A full day workshops and presentations from young people to the services that has or will impact young people and their families.

Reach Up Youth have successfully supported young people to

Develop skills, qualifications, and leadership to ensure they are ‘work ready’.
Engagements of community and belonging through engagement with local communities (engagement stalls, recruiting volunteers, showcasing the charity, litter picking)
Gain employment through mentoring and work-based learning
Improve their mental wellbeing and created Youth Mental Health Champions
Have a voice and proactively influence how services are delivered in their locality.

Feel integrated within society, breaking down language and societal barriers
Address race equality in services and educational institutions
Improve their access to services (leisure, health, and education) by breaking down barriers and partnering with institutions to ensure increased inclusivity.
Create more positive role models in communities, and in turn, reduce knife crime, anti-social behaviour, and exclusions.
